Another year, another open enrollment for health insurance.
Big changes expected to happen in 2020, with the most notable item being the reinstatement of the tax penalty law in California. While President Trump has had his own ideas regarding healthcare, California's legislative team has decided to go its own direction. Earlier this year, the state passed mandate SB78 which will once again require Californians to purchase health insurance, or at least Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC). Those who fail to obtain it will be penalized at tax time this next year.
